明清时期江南运河对小说创作的影响——以“白蛇传”故事为例

摘要：逮及明清之时，“白蛇传”故事历经人物身份转变、形象认知错置后最终定型。故事本身是以远古时期的崇蛇信仰为起点，然后扎根民间并经吸收与改造，进而延续于文人创作中的精怪文化链与江南运河流域政治、经济、文化场彼此交织的结果使然。事实上，明清时期的江南运河经济带在助推通俗小说走向成熟的过程中发挥着至关重要的双重作用：一是通过拨动雅俗文学杠杆和重构民间传统婚恋观建构起特定的文化空间，驱动着“白蛇传”故事完成基于民间审美的认知偏向和创作主题的持续演进；二是借助于贯通南北、横亘江浙的江南运河水网的优越地理环境与现实优势资源，加快明清通俗小说与特定景观、文人治生与商业发展的有机结合，进而推动通俗文学商业化、产品化的实现进程。

Abstract: By the Ming-Qing period, the Legend of the White Snake had achieved its canonical form through transformations in character identities and cognitive dislocations of imagery. Originating from ancient serpent-worship beliefs, this narrative took root in folk culture and underwent continuous adaptation, ultimately evolving into a literary tradition where the supernatural serpent cultural chain intersected with the political, economic and cultural fields of the Jiangnan Canal region. Historically, the Jiangnan Canal economic belt played a dual catalytic role in maturing vernacular fiction: Firstly, by recalibrating the highbrow-lowbrow literary dynamic and reconstructing folk marital values, it created a unique cultural space that propelled the narrative's thematic evolution aligned with popular aesthetics. Secondly, leveraging its transregional network spanning Zhejiang-Jiangsu waterways, the canal facilitated the organic synthesis of vernacular fiction, geographical landmarks, literati livelihood, and commercial development, thereby accelerating the commercialization and commodification of popular literature.
