4000 Tons of Carbon Reduction After 4-year Operation! Remarkable Results in Zhangjiagang Hydrogen-powered Bus Promotion

在万众瞩目的北京2022冬奥会期间，大批量自主品牌氢能源客车承担运输服务保障重任，向世界展现了我国氢能源汽车推广应用的前沿成果。除了站上世界舞台，氢能源客车还化身公交融入各地寻常百姓家，其中江苏省张家港市已走在前列。

During the much-anticipated Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, a large number of self-owned brand hydrogen-powered buses undertook the important task of transportation service guarantee, showing the cutting-edge achievements of China’s promotion and application of hydrogen-powered vehicles to the world. In addition to stepping onto the world stage, hydrogen-powered buses have also become a means of public transportation that can be seen at almost every ordinary people’s doorway. Zhangjiagang City in Jiangsu Province has taken the lead in the promotion and application of this kind of bus.

日前恰逢张家港市氢能源公交运营四周年，从率先探索批量投用到配套设施、管理制度日趋完善，再到节能减排效果超预期，这一县级市成功走出了氢能源公交推广应用的新路径，为各地提供经验、借鉴。

Recently, Zhangjiagang City has marked the fourth anniversary of its hydrogen-powered bus operation. From the pioneer in exploring batch application to the increasingly improvement of supporting facilities and management system, as well as the unexpected progress in energy conservation and emission reduction, the county-level city has succeeded in embarking on a new path for the promotion and application of hydrogen-powered bus, providing experience and reference for various regions.

首先是政策利好。2018年起，张家港市委市政府连续三年出台一系列发展规划和支持政策，支持氢能源车辆购置应用、加氢站建设运营，目标就是把张家港打造成为具有全国影响力的“中国氢港”。而港城公交作为全市唯一的公交运营企业，由此承担起张家港氢能多元化应用“先行军”的角色。

First, policy incentives. Since 2018, The Zhangjiagang Muncipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have issued a series of development plans and supportive policies for three consecutive years to support the purchase and application of hydrogen-powered vehicles, as well as the construction and operation of hydrogen refueling stations for the purpose of building Zhangjiagang into a “China hydrogen port” with national influence. As the only bus operating enterprise in the city, Gangcheng Bus plays the role of “forerunner” in the diversified application of hydrogen energy in Zhangjiagang.

2018年，港城公交首次引入15辆氢能源公交车，成为江苏省率先引入氢燃料车辆、国内率先实现氢能源公交车上线运营的公交企业。截至目前，港城公交共计有60辆氢能源公交车上线运营运营，总行驶里程超过500万公里，累计减少二氧化碳排放超过4000吨。

In 2018, Gangcheng Bus introduced 15 hydrogen buses for the first time, becoming the first bus enterprise in Jiangsu Province to introduce hydrogen-fueled vehicles and to realize hydrogen-powered bus online operation domestically. Up to now, a total of 60 hydrogen buses have been put into operation, with a total mileage of more than 5 million kilometers and a cumulative reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of more than 4,000 tons.

其次是能源保障。张家港地处长三角，拥有大量的化工、钢铁等行业企业，工业副产氢丰富。同时全市聚集了氢能储运装备企业和创新能力较强的氢燃料电堆企业，涉氢企业有近30家，具备良好的氢能产业链资源优势。这些都为发展氢能产业提供了能源保障。

Second, energy guarantee. Located in the Yangtze River Delta, Zhangjiagang boasts a number of chemical, steel and other industries, as well as abundant industrial by-product hydrogen. At the same time, the city has gathered hydrogen energy storage and transportation equipment enterprises and hydrogen fuel reactor enterprises with strong innovation capabilities. There are nearly 30 hydrogen-related companies, having resource competitiveness in hydrogen energy industrial chain. All these provide the energy guarantee for the development of hydrogen energy industry.
