华东交通大学交通与工程应用翻译研究中心，2016年获批江西省高高校人文社科重点研究基地，依托学校交通运输工程学科优势，立足行业，服务区域发展，形成融“实践-教学-研究-社会服务为一体”的模式，成为立足全省、辐射全国理工科高校的有特色的应用翻译研究科研机构，为交通工程建设、跨文化交流、应用翻译人才培养发挥参考、咨询和语言服务等作用，不断提升服务行业和区域经济社会发展的能力。
研究中心现聘任专兼职研究人员24人，其中7位教授，9位副教授，13名博士；享受国务院特殊津贴及全国师德先进个人、全国优秀教师、江西省名师1人，入选江西省百千万人才工程1人，江西省中青年骨干教师5人。5年多来，中心完成了多项地方法规、旅游宣传、科技文献、工程技术资料、商务、高铁技术专著、“中俄现代铁路创新与可持续发展”国际会议等大型口笔译实践任务，并在商贸、工程、铁路技术与标准翻译研究方面取得了丰富的研究成果，获25 项省级以上优秀教学成果奖和科研成果奖。
中心每年对外发布2-4项省高校人文社科重点研究招标课题；团队成员主持国家级、省部级和厅级以上项目48项，横向课题多项；发表论文64篇，出版专著、编著、译著8部，出版9部交通特色系列校本英语（翻译）教材。撰写的6份咨询报告、政策建议被政府机构、企事业单位正式采用；建立了交通与工程应用翻译研究舆情中心网站平台；承办多届交通英语翻译大赛、“天佑杯”交通科技英语知识竞赛、“天佑杯”铁路文化外语系列竞赛交通特色系列外语赛事；选拔学生进入研究中心实习实践，开设相应的培训课程，助力培养交通行业特色的语言服务专业学生。
About Research Centre for Applied Translation of Transportation and Engineering
was approved as a key research institute of humanities and social science for universities in Jiangxi Province in 2016. Supported by ECJTU with its strength in transportation engineering, the Research Centre has become a distinctive research institute, featuring the transportation engineering field, committed to serving the regional development. The Research Center has formed a model integrating "practice - teaching - research - social service". It has developed into a province-based research institute of applied translation with characteristics, radiating to universities of science and technology nationwide, playing the role of consultation and language service for the construction of transportation engineering, cross-cultural communication and training of applied translation talents, and continuously improving the ability to serve the industry and regional economic and social development.
The Research Center has 24 full-time and part-time researchers, including 7 professors, 9 associate professors and 13 members with PhDs. It also has one researcher enjoying the special subsidy from the State Council, one winning the honorary title of National Outstanding Teachers with Professional Ethics, one conferred with National Prominent Teacher Award and Jiangxi Provincial Outstanding Teacher Award, one appraised as Jiangxi Provincial New-Century National Baiqianwan Talent, and five selected as young and middle-aged backbone teachers in Jiangxi. In recent 5 years, the Research Center has completed significant practical tasks of interpretation and translation service including monographs on high-speed railway technology, the 7th International Symposium on Innovation and Sustainability of Modern Railway in Nanchang and so on. Meanwhile, it has won 25 outstanding Teaching Achievement Awards and Scientific Research Achievement Awards at the provincial level.
The Research Center releases 2 to 4 key research bidding projects in Jiangxi province. So far, the members have chaired 48 projects at national, provincial, ministerial and departmental levels, and many other industrial projects. It has published 64 papers, 8 monographs, edited books and translated works as well as 9 school-based textbooks with transportation characteristics. Six reports from the center have been formally adopted by government agencies and enterprises. Besides, The Research Center has established the website platform entitled Public Opinion Center for Applied Translation of Transportation and Engineering. It has hosted several translation competitions, including the "Tianyou Cup" English Knowledge of Transportation Technology Competition, and a series of "Tianyou Cup " English competitions on railway culture. By allowing students to join in the research center for internship and practice and offering some corresponding training courses, The Research Center expects to help cultivate students with better language service capabilities in transportation engineering.
