A Chinese Engineer Helps to Give the World Cup A Home

Huang Taorui is proud to be able to contribute to the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup as a staff member of a Chinese company by putting his engineering knowledge and rich work experience to work.

作为来自中国公司的员工,黄韬睿很自豪能够将自己所掌握的工程知识和丰富的工作经验运用到工作中,为正在举行的2022卡塔尔世界杯做出贡献。

The 36-year-old began working on building Lusail Stadium — Qatar's biggest sports facility and the main venue of the global soccer championship — as deputy project manager in November 2016.

黄韬睿,今年36岁, 201611月成为卢塞尔体育场项目的副经理,负责建造卢塞尔体育场——卡塔尔最大的体育场馆、世界足球锦标赛主场地的建设工作。

With an area of 190,000 square meters, the golden bowl-shaped venue was built by China Railway Construction Corp International.

这个占地19万平方千米,形状宛如金碗的体育场由中国铁建股份有限公司承建。

Located in Lusail, some 20 kilometers north of Doha, Qatar's capital, the stadium was completed in September last year after nearly five years of work.

该体育场位于卡塔尔首都多哈以北约20公里处的卢赛尔,在近五年的施工建设后,于去年9月竣工。

Born in Shizuishan in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Huang was admitted to the civil engineering program at Tongji University in Shanghai in 2005. Later, in 2014, he joined State-owned CRCC.

黄先生出生于宁夏回族自治区石嘴山市,于2005年考入上海同济大学土木工程系。随后,在2014年,他入职了国企中国铁建股份有限公司。

The stadium can accommodate up to 80,000 spectators.

卡塔尔体育场可容纳8万名观众。

As the main venue for the World Cup and with the most complex system, the highest design standards and the most advanced technologies, construction of the stadium has not been easy.

作为世界杯的主体育场,卡塔尔体育场采用了最复杂的系统、最高的设计标准和最先进的技术,所以其建设工作并不轻松。

"During the process, we made every effort to ensure a high degree of construction accuracy and safety," he said. "Meanwhile, we also introduced some advanced Chinese technologies to the project."

黄先生表示:“在施工过程中,我们竭尽全力提高施工精度和安全性。同时,我们还在该项目引进了一些先进的中国技术。”

"Another difficulty was the six-month season of extremely hot weather," he said. "To keep the workers healthy, we equipped the dormitories and construction site with air conditioning, showers and water dispensers with mixed glucose water. Some workers fought the heat by wearing special icewater vests to cool their bodies."

“六个月的酷热天气也是个难题,”他说。“为了保障工人身体健康,我们为宿舍和建筑工地配备了空调和淋浴器,以及装有葡萄糖水的饮水机。一些工人还穿着特制的冰背心来给身体降温,与高温作斗争。”

Huang returned to China in June.

黄先生已于6月回到中国。

"I am proud to have the chance to bring 'Made in China' overseas," he said. "I will continue to try my best to show the strength of Chinese technology at home and abroad."

黄先生说道,“我很自豪有机会领着‘中国制造’走向海外,我会继续努力,在国内和海外展示中国技术的实力。”
